The newly re-named St. George and St. Michael Royal Air Force Church Centre was re-dedicated in a unique ceremony at RAF Odiham on January 22nd 1998.
The new building is an ecumenical centre, housing not only the station Padre, but the SSAFA help worker. The building includes a church hall that gives the option of increasing the area in the main church for larger congregations, Baptisms and other celebrations and a small side-chapel for private prayer or quiet reflection.
The re-dedication ceremony was performed in an ecumenical service in the presence of the Catholic Bishop of the Forces, the Assistant Anglican Bishop of Winchester and involved the respective Command Chaplains and Station clergy, together with 120 members of the local forces and civilian community and invited guests.
